Villa Khaled is a private residence located in Doha. The design project was carried out by the art & design studio Fiorino, a partner and base of Escooh in Qatar. The subject of the commission was two decorative crowns of remarkable dimensions that required all the expertise and craftsmanship of Escooh. In true Escooh style, all stages of production and pre-assembly testing were carried out at the place of origin, in Sicily.

Starting from the exterior, the assignment involved the production of a crown in bronzed metal with an aluminum oxide finish, placed on the roof of the building. It is an elliptical structure of considerable size, composed of a telescopic iron framework with adjustable arms to evade any irregularities in the structure. Aluminum bronze anodized sheets measuring 3 meters by 1 are fixed to the frame with pins, decorated with hexagonal holes of four different sizes, ranging from 3 to 12 centimeters. The crown structure consists of lattice trusses assembled with screws and bolts. It is placed on a circular elevation of the roof, compared to the perimeter walls of the building, specially prepared. Subsequently, the finished crown was hoisted onto the roof with the help of a crane. To prevent overturning in the cantilever area, the structure is connected to the building with iron rods.

A similar composition, but on two rows of panels, was replicated inside the building. This second crown, identical to the exterior one in structure and materials, consists of 58 panels with a doubling of its height to six meters. The destination is the main hall of the building along the elliptical perimeter of the skylight. Just past the entrance, you are greeted with the view of a majestic covering that extends over the top of the room in a 360-degree perspective. In addition to its remarkable scenic effect, the aluminum, coloring, and holes reflect the sunlight inside the space, providing good illumination throughout the day with the particularity of a suggestive play of lights and shadows.

To complete the outdoor furnishings, a canopy made of bronzed painted anodized aluminum, measuring 2.8 meters by 1.46 and adorned with the same decorative hexagonal holes, was placed above the entrance gate. A metal structure was directly anchored to the wall and the internal ceiling of the passage.
