The fir has a light color tending towards white-yellowish with regular veins, parallel and not very pronounced, of a reddish hue. Its surface is smooth, and the texture is uniform.

Uses

Properties

Fir wood, thanks to its greater resistance, offers excellent versatility in its uses: from furniture to carpentry works, from the construction of prefabricated houses to the production of fixtures and doors.

The average density after seasoning is 480 kg/m3. Fir is lightweight and easy to work with. It dries quickly but can be susceptible to deformations. It has good strength and is often used in light construction and for making furniture. Fir has an ideal porosity for various treatments that can penetrate the fibers well, making it very resistant to weathering.
